Yekom Consulting Engineers with over 35 years experience provides wide range of engineering services in water and agriculture sectors. Level of services in Yekom comprises planning, design and construction supervision, operation and maintenance, and project management services for agricultural and water resources development plans. Yekom with over 400 technical and administrative staff has largely contributed to water and agriculture industry and is numbered among few major water/agriculture related consulting firms in the country for its wide range of services. In addition to numerous national projects Yekom has been and is involved in several large international dam, water resources engineering, river engineering, and water and wastewater projects in Syrian Arab Republic, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Cuba.

Water Resources

Baseline Studies
Meteorology and climatology; flood and drought; surface and groundwater resources; physiography of river system watershed; preparation of water resources atlas; stratification and measurement of soil transmissibility; drilling and installation of observation boreholes; preparation of groundwater balance and groundwater operational models; leaching and land improvement studies; measurement and quality-quantity sampling of water resources; surface and groundwater quality and quantity monitoring; geology, geotechnics, soil mechanics; preparation and analysis of exploratory excavations plan.


Dam and Hydropower
Feasibility study and design of concrete and earth storage dams and diversion headworks to store water, control flood and generate power; design of hydropower plants, appurtenances and other dam related structures and remedial works for the existing dams. Irrigation and Drainage Network
Feasibility study and design of diversion dams, free-flow and pressurized water supply networks, subsurface irrigation and drainage and relevant structures, land levelling, improvement and rehabilitation, drainage and artificial recharge Services include: irrigation studies; agricultural design; calculation of water requirements; irrigation planning and irrigation scheduling; preparation of operational, improvement, restoration and remedial works for irrigation and drainage networks.


Water and Wastewater
Feasibility studies; study and design of water collection and transmission lines, intake structures, water distribution networks, water storages, pumping stations and water treatment plants, desalination and relevant structures; calculation of physical water leakage and its sources in municipal water networks; urban and industrial sewage collection and conveyance systems and relevant treatment plants; collection and conveyance of surface flows; design of schematic repair and maintenance as well as telemetric and remote sensing systems.

Agro-Processing, Textile and Polymeric Industries
Study and design of agro-processing, textile and polymeric industries comprises determining production capacity, technology selection, design of production line, specifying production and logistics spaces, machinery specifications and their installment, structural, electromechanical, electronic, water & wastewater utility design and architecture, landscaping of industrial complexes.


Geographic Studies and Spatial Planning
Regional study and planning (urban, rural); physical development planning; synthesis and tourism studies; preparation of rural, tribal and management strategic plans; land-use and habitation development positioning; handcraft management; applying geographic information system, geographical digital database system and satellite images (remote sensing) for socio-economic, cultural and anthropological studies.


Quality Management
Submission of consulting services for establishing and maintenance of quality management systems (quality management, environmental and health management); design and implementation of management systems based on international standards; execution of management plans to raise capacities of organizations; design and performance of engineering sub-systems and establishing training courses on management systems.


Ground Surveying
Ground surveying includes preparation of topographic (urban/regional) and cadastral maps; surveying and implementation of alignment for pipelines, energy transmission; preparation of longitudinal and cross sections; land integration; measurement of photographic ground control points; preparation of digital elevation model when ground surveying was used for data collection; cartographic processing.


Project Management Services
Preparation of timetable and financial plan for projects; cooperation with clients to proceed consultants/contractors selection tenders; reviewing contracts' documents; coordinating activities of consultants, contractors and stakeholders; technical review of reports, maps and technical documents; review and approval of consultants' statements; implementation management; commissioning and operation management services.


International Cooperation
Yekom has cooperated with international consultants in several projects including Arcadis Euroconsult from Netherlands in "Irrigation Improvement Project (IIP)", financed by the World Bank, with ACE from Pakistan in "Moghan Irrigation and Drainage Project", and with Sogreah from France in "Agricultural Potential in Khuzistan Province".
Since 2006, Yekom has cooperated with Euroconsult from Netherlands as project management support consultant, involved in control and conduction of all components of "Alborz Integrated Land & Water Management Project (AILWMP)".
Since 1999, Yekom has implemented several projects in Syrian Arab Republic, Turkmenistan and Cuba including the following project:

Information Technology
Yekom has highlighted the use of modern technology as its new evolutionary approach and intended to be pioneer in methodology and service by creation and employing new technologies. For this purpose, with respect to technology, appropriate mechanisms and business friendly tools and practices were studied, executed and used to support other divisions of the firm.
Taking advantage of information technology at all dimensions (computer network, intranet, internet, email, etc), Management Information Systems (MIS), Project Control and Planning, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and finally Quality Management Systems (QMS) is Yekom's approach towards development and technology. In this respect, Yekom has proved its ability by implementing environmental systems and management projects for other organizations.
