Supervision Division

Supervision for construction as the key activity in consulting services requires a very elaborated systematic approach. Supervision Division of Yekom Consulting Engineers as one of the core divisions is responsible for implementation planning as well as supervision for construction of different projects. Due to number, variation and sporadic characters of supervision projects, this division has divided into three sections geographically to optimize the quality of its services. In the recent years, this division has been involved in about 30 projects at a time.
To perform its responsibilities and functions, this division benefits from services of Coordination Secretary as well as management of head of different supervision sections and selected project managers.

The main responsibilities and functions of this division are:
1. At Tender Stage
• Cooperates with other divisions for quantity estimation and preparation of tender documents
• Prepares the pre-evaluation documents and proceeds the evaluation stages for selection of qualified contractors to be called for tender
• Collaborates with clients in selection of the contractors
• Prepares the agreement documents for the selected contractors
2. Planning, Implementation Procedures and Progress Control
• Review and comment on general timetable prepared by the consultant in the detail design and implementation stages
• Review and comment on the technology and implementation procedures recommended in the detail design
• Pursue the project control and planning system, established by contractors and equipment suppliers and supervise its implementation
• Review and approve the detailed timetable including manpower, machinery and materials
• Prepare the monthly progress report, compare the actual progress with the recommended timetable, analyze the delays, if any and submit the appropriate solutions
3. Techno-Engineering Services
• Revise the design and shop drawings during implementation, if required
• Prepare forms, guidelines and documents for different stages of quality control, work inspection, tests, work completion and required work orders
• Prepare the detailed list of required tests
• Maintain the technical documents and quality control records
• Prepare lists of required resources for project implementation including manpower, materials, machineries and tools
• Revise the drawings and technical specifications during construction stage, if required and prepare the complementary and detailed shop drawings
• Control and approve the shop and as-built drawings
4. Quality Control Services
• Inspect the performed activities and compare with drawings, technical specifications, standards and work orders continually
• Check if the actual implemented axes and levels agree with the drawings
• Supervise storage and maintenance of materials and equipment on site
• Require the needed tests to be performed and supervise the performance
• Give notice the possible deficiencies, shortcomings and faults
5. Estimation, Quantity Control, Payments and Legal Issues of Contracts, Work Delivery
• Review and update the estimations and prepare the new bill of quantities during construction phase
• Measure the accomplished tasks and materials on site, control and approval of temporary and final statements
• Check the contractors delays according to the contract
• Review the legal issues of the contract, comment on contractors claims, and cooperate with the client in settlement of any disputes
• Review and comment on installments, new prices, redemption of guarantees, etc.
• Temporary and final delivery of services
