RS/GIS (Remote Sensing & Geographical Information Systems)

The objective of this section Is to increase the quality of on going consulting activities of the company by providing technical assistance  on Remote sensing and Geographical Information System to different projects and Also provide RS/GIS services to out side market. The well experienced working team of this section, backed up by company's rich expertise and equipped with the latest tools is providing the following services:

1.Consulting,designing and installation of Geographical Information System
• Feasibility study and cost estimation for RS/GIS sites. Our goal is comprehensive and accurate definition of the requirements in terms of functionality, data and business strategy.
• Assessment of software needs for the projects and making recommendation.
•Making recommendation for GIS solution, practically and economically.
• Designing and developing Geographical information system as joint project or independent contract.
• Training of staff from basic up to designing and implementation local or regional GIS projects.

2.Site selection and data acquisition
In a wide range of activities we collect and assemble diverse range of topographic data, networks, satellite imagery, different locations by using GPS and put them into coherent content and appropriate data base. These data bases are used for different site selections as users requirements, such as irrigation schemes, dams land development and land conservation etc…
3.Cadastral mapping and data base development
The RS/GIS section has successfully prepared cadastral map and its data base for a part of Moghan irrigation scheme in north west of Iran (Aslandouz and Bela savar), using high resolution satellite data (IKONOUS). Rural Cadastral maps are prepared by using image processing techniques and related database is developed to define the ownership boundaries.

4.Preparation of iso maps
Point data is converted to area data by using different interpolation methods and iso maps and cellular information are prepared according to the user requirements. For example iso term, iso bar, iso hyte, iso evaporation and hypsometric.
5.Three dimensional analysis
DTM and DEM are prepared to increase the quality of spatial analysis in the studies. By using these models slope and aspect maps are prepared, cross section profiles are drawn and land cut and fills are calculated.

6.Training and Support
YEKOM offers complete practical and flexible training courses tailored to the users need. Modules are ranged from high level RS/GIS to awareness seminars suitable for senior managers to formal software training for specific application and users. 7.Landuse map from satellite image processing
Satellite images are geo corrected and edge matched (Mosaeced) appropriately, and images are enhanced through proper coloring. Unsupervised classification is done, training site and supervised classification is carried out and most appropriate filters are applied to make the best land use maps. Maps are checked in the field and final quality products are presented.
